Rapunzel, Swept Away

I don't think I mentioned that I cut my hair yesterday. Well, actually, I didn't cut it. I went to a place where you pay a person and she does it for you. A trained person. Presumably. I mean I've not requested any kind of documentation beyond that little license that hangs at her station wall, but I trust her. She's done a competent job in the past.

Anyway, it's short now.

  1. I had a friend whose stock reply to "Did you get a haircut?" was "No. I got them all cut."

  2. Ha! Clever! I'd completely missed that nuance.

I'm still trying out the new do. It's made a noticeable difference in my grooming habits. The day after I got it cut, I woke up, got dressed and washed and was almost out the door before realizing that I hadn't brushed my hair. Three brushstrokes later, I pronounced the job resolved since there wasn't much to do with it in straight mode.

It's curly now, for lack of blow-drying interest. So it just goes where it wants to and laughs at my attempts to use bobby pins and the likes.

  3. I vaguely remember having hair. Now my wife cuts my hair -- set the groomer to 3/8" and away we go -- and with setup time and everything, the whole process is about ten minutes. I have to make sure I brush what's left so it lines up the right way within a minute or two of stepping out of the shower or it dries and I look like I have nap hair.
